How come they don't make corned pork?

Seems you can corn anything...

CORNING GAME MEATS You can corn venison, antelope, moose, bear or beef with the same corning method. It makes all of these meats plain good eating. People who will not eat wild meats may like them corned, as corning takes out the musky wild flavor and tenderizes the toughest wild meats. A good piece of round is wonderful corned, but even less desirable cuts of meat like the brisket can be corned.

I know some peeps who will smoke stuffed ham also.

The reason for boiling is to get the salt out.

The corned beef has good flavor

but salty:hot:

Maybe you could water soak it overnight before you prepare it and smoke it ? I used to do that with some bacon. Soak it, not smoke it...

Well, I kind of figured you could do it. What I really meant to ask is why don't we see them in the meat section? It seems like something I would try, anyway.

:howdy: My post wasn't a response to your "could" but rather a reaction from me after doing a web search and finding the vast array of meats people corned. That article, in particular, really surprised me. Just wanted to share with everyone! :buddies:
