Corned Hams

Man, I'm still here !!!
Guess, i was oblivious to Mckays on Great Mills closing!!!! That's where i'd get my hams, Food Lion on calvert side stopped carrying them. Anyone know where corned hams are !!! Ya i could call all over creation, but hate waiting for a pick up and transfer to meat department.

I think my parents get theirs from McKay's in Leonardtown.

Corned hams were available at the California, MD Shopper's Food Warehouse last evening. They were selling for $2.49/lb. Be prepared to trim about 4 lbs. of fat from the ham (my experience from last year), so a 24 lb. ham will likely trim down to 20 lbs. All the hams in inventory appeared to be relatively large. You may also experience a shortage of smaller hams again this year, due to the smaller ones being desired in overseas markets.

Ordered my corned ham from Chaptico Market about a week ago. I'm picking it up the 24th.

You can corn your own. I often corn small fresh hams for stuffed ham. Search for a thread on this site if you are interested.

Various stores at differing times. Food Lion and Shoppers mostly. They are marked as fresh hams or shoulder. They just look like picnic hams without the color from smoking. Usually on sale as the cheapest cut of pork.
