Courthouse and post office in La Plata

Courthouse is blocked off and there are rescue squads, and tons of cops there. It also looked like they were setting up one of those decontamination showers at the courthouse. They have also blocked off the post Office over here too. Anyone know what's going on?

Two envelopes with ?powder? inside were found. Hazmat team was doing testing and there was a note that said "tick, tick, boom" so everyone is now being told to clear the area. They are now treating it as a bomb threat. I've been listening on the scanner for an hour but just never could catch on to where it was happening.

Thanks oldman! Let me know if you hear anything else. I'm right across the street from the post office...I guess if they really think it's a bomb threat at the post office I would hope they would evacuate us.

You area should be getting really crowded with cops/ambulances/hazmat/bomb people. Currenty 8 peoples are getting detoxed as a precaution and a bus has been requested for when they get out they can get warm. They've also requested to take them to Civista ofter detox as a precaution. There is currently no proof of chemicals or a bomb. Packing lot is being evacuated.

There's only one camera man out there. I'm not sure if he works for a local station though.

Think I just heard they were shutting down MANY streets in the area. If you're still in the area you may be stuck for a while unless you're walking.

I'm listening to my home scanner. I heard St. Mary's teams were called in also. I hope this is all a farce but believe me it's being taken seriously until the facts are determined.
