Nothing for RL. I agree about the cheddar biscuits.
Have the site plan for Golden Corral as well.
I may have my places confused, but I believe that the Golden Corral franchise will be run by Aldridge Ford Inc.

The problem being, "nutz", is that these developers have little vision. Would be good to see more versatility, such as an art gallery, new movie theatre (that has been discussed forever), little parks, putt putt golf, etc. Instead, the same old tired business formula is being used over and over. RT 235 strip malls and restaurant rows can be seen all over the country. Would be nice to see some local businesses. Oh, and BTW, more affordable housing is needed. But basically, people or I should say mindless sheeple don't really care as long as their bellies are filled at the trough and it's convenient.![]()

Belly up to the bank and get a loan to put in a new theater, or are you just a closet #####er who lurks in the shadows and #####es first about those who do not take the risk to bring you what you desire and second about those who do and get wealthy?

Well, if those are the things you'd like to see, go and make it happen. Put up the money or find investors and do it. The developers are doing what they do because they're the ones putting there capital at risk. Because of that, they tend to go for the "tired business formula" that they know will work. I read over and over in these forums, "why don't they put in a _________?" (fill in the blank). Well, why is always up to "they"? If you want something, stop complaining and go do it!

It's funny what statistical analysis, traffic patterns, region demographics, population density studies, regional income data, work force studies and store viability studies do for you eh?
Not to mention that non-chain restaurants have a historical failure rate that is staggering. but who would pay attention to that?
What the hell does this mean? Makes no sense which must mean you have no clue so you just jabber a bit. That's right, Petie, who would pay attention to the community and have some pride in their county, certainly not developers. Have anymore that you would like to add to your list of excuses?

So as to my other question why are you on the bench #####ing and not at the bank getting your business plan approved for a new Mini-golf and movie theater?
Would Mr. Steed approve a new go-cart track and Titty Bar?

Only if there's "Liquor up front and poker in the rear."
Now there's a business plan I can get behind.Would Mr. Steed approve a new go-cart track and Titty Bar?
Sound a little sensitive "awpitt" (wonder why?); in fact, according to most of the community meetings held by the County, participants
No sensitivities here. Just tired of hearing the "they should do this" and "they should do that". Like Pete said if there's a business idea that interests you, go to the bank and get your business plan approved and make it happen.
Really? You enjoy running your mouth and challenging people who desire a better place or improvement, don't you son? I find it interesting how you have established a record of protecting development. It would behoove developers to listen to their communities, perhaps then they would not be looked upon with such ridicule and disdain. The large corporations who have descended on places like southern Maryland could care less if they obliterate every local business within sight. At one time, local businesses did very well here, of course that was before the predators came into town. But as one poster stated, in order for local businesses to survive they must be supported by the community.
There are a number of residents who care about where they live and would like to change the landscape but unlike a lot of the developers, builders, and politicians around here, did not get a hand up from daddy and mommy. Just to enlighten you, there are many ways to affect change without applying for bank loans. Are you intelligent enough to figure that out or are you such a linear thinker that I need to explain it to you?
My suggestion to you, is if you don't care about where you live or if you have a problem with people who do care, move in with Merlin, Petie, and DoNothing, I'm sure that Petie has room in his dog house and you all can get behind each other to your hearts' content - now that would be a sight to see.
BTW juvies, with regard to a topless bar, I expect that all the self-confessed, right-winged conservatives (please refer to this forum) in SoMD might have a problem - if not, they are the hypocrites I suspect they are. And just so you boys are up on County regs., a go-cart track would be fine but it would have to be located within an approved land use zone (think zone designation, neighboring properties, noise ordinances, etc.). If you want these things, I suggest that you go to a bank and ask for a loan and then submit your plans to the County.
