Crash involving alcohol kills 8-year-old boy

The 8-year-old, Orion Bickings of Remington, Va., "was not restrained, and as the vehicle overturned, he was ejected and died at the scene of the accident as a result of injuries sustained," says Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler.

The Star-Exponent reports Kines then put the boy in the vehicle's trunk before help arrived.

All the more reason that if you get a single DUI you should be taken out of the car and shot in the head then and there.

He's lying. There's no way he was drunk on two drinks unless he's the original One Beer Lightweight.

I'm impaired after two glasses of wine or two stiff mixed drinks. Not so much drunk but my judgment is definently impaired. I tell this story alot. In fact, I told it to my last TAMS class...

7 years ago when the BAC level changed for DWIs, me and another bartender did an experiment. I ate a chicken breast and drank a glass of white wine. She ate a steak and drank a glass of red wine. We waited 30 minutes. We both blew over .07. Both of us felt perfectly fine. I was a bigger girl back then.
I now get slightly fuzzy after my first glass of wine. Almost like I'm a bit more relaxed.

This is typically the standard response when questioned on whether or not a person had been drinking prior to a stop. It is always, I only had 2 drinks. And a common question back is did you drink them out of buckets?

I bet Tom Champ said he'd only had 2 drinks too, each and every time he got stopped for DWI/DUI, which has been, oh, like 9 times.

Sad, the outcome may have been different had this boy been seat belted in, not that this in any way places blame on anyone else but the drunk driver. Just saying.

Sad, isn't it? That's why safety belts are so important. The boy who was restrained in a safety sit was not injured. I'm willing to bet he'd be alive had he been buckled in properly.

ETA: Like Pandora said, I'm not taking the blame away from the drunk driver. He should not have been driving drunk.

your always impaired:lmao:

would you agree a beer has the same alcohol content as a glass of wine?

cause I can drink one beer on an empty stomach and be below .02 within about 45 minutes

No. I can drink a beer and be fine but that glass of wine will make me warm and fuzzy.

Maybe if he wasn't drunk, he would have strapped the boy in.

The food is irrelevant. Just makes you a "full" drunk.

But a 12oz beer and an 8oz glass of wine DO have the same alcohol content. Just figure that the 12oz is more diluted...is the best way I can put it :yay:

Basically...if you slammed either one it has nearly the exact same effect...the wine is just quicker consumed by most people

I'm not a wine drinker, but I think 5 oz. is a serving.
