Crochet Blankets

I've been making a stockpile of blankets and the like to give out for Christmas. I had a brainy idea, but have no clue where or how or if I should, lol.

I'd like to sew in some kind of tag into my blankets. Something that says who it was made by and When. That way generations down, they can say, this blanket was made by great great great grandma way back in 2008, :lmao:

I've surfed a little on google, but haven't seen anything. I would handwrite a tag, but that would vanish in the wash...

any ideas? should I just forget about it?

TIA :buddies:

That label just brought up the Joanns main page for me. Joanns has fabric printer pages that you can put in your printer and make your own label. I think they're around $10 per pack. You can just sew them in. I bought the iron on fabric "paper" from Joanns and made my own labels. They're nice!

My mother did this, there was a company years ago that made the labels with "made with loving care by 'name'". She made a lot of afghans and gave them out as gifts at Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries.

I've seen beautiful afghans on sale at flea markets for $5 and it breaks my heart. Only because i know how much time goes into making one for someone you care about. Who made it? How long ago?

I don't want mine to be in some random yard sale 20 years from now.... but if they are dammit, someone will know where they came from, lol

If someone asked you to make them one, how much would you sell it to them for?
I'd be interested in having one made for my King size bed.

It's depend on the yarns you choose, after buying all of the yarns to make that big blanket and then add in labor cost to crochet/knit. For example, the yarns cost $100 to use all of the yarns and then add in another $100 for labor. It's will be $200.

Note: that's just an example, not the real price or anything like that.
