For those who dont click through, it's gotten worse. Looks like she solicited sales to both Kaiser and Blue Choice, where they bought books from her LLC then received juicy contracts from a govt agency she directed.

PS, she's still drawing her salary while not doing the job. There's a reason why we call those voters "Baltimorons".

Was wondering when this story would hit on here...well after the fact as usual....and what the commentary would be.

It didn't come as a surprise that this crowd (spitbubble in particular) vilifies the mayor of Balt but provides a complete pass for Donald Trump's self dealing from his charitable foundation.

I work in Baltimore and indirectly for Baltimore. I've had to deal with her and her team (and predecessor) several times before. The whole system is F'd up through and through. There are so many examples of side-skirting their own laws and internal policies that it's laughable. The City of Baltimore is a prime example of the incompetence of gov't. It's where good intention people go to have their career die and where lazy people go to coast .........

Last I heard (this morning) is that she's dealing with the book deals to multiple parties and also got involved in the purchase of an EXTREMELY undervalued home in the area. When the stories started to break, so did her case of flu apparently.

I know you guys will scream (it's actually kind of amusing to watch) but her getting those book contracts probably isn't illegal under Maryland ethics laws for public officials.

Where she may get dinged will be if she didn't list it on her financial disclosure statement. If it is listed then probably no problem.

If she was helping them get contracts in her capacity as mayor, that could be a problem. Then again, who's going to prosecute her?
Wouldn't surprise me if she became the next governor.

Yeah, she sold a whole lot more than were ever printed. Only like 20K have been found. Printer says they have records showing 60K were printed in three batches of 20K each, but nobody knows where they went or what happened to them.

Had you bought an order of books, you would profess a better opinion of her.
