I have gotten the alcohol package on the last 3 or 4 cruises we have been on and will probably continue doing this if we continue to cruise. As lovinmaryland said, Celebrity does not require both adults in the cabin to purchase the package. This is the main cruise line we sail. Not sure it will be worth it if we have to purchase 2 packages, since my wife is the sober one in the family. So for those cruise lines, I will still continue to drink plenty of alcohol, but will pay by the glass. I have not noticed a decrease in the amount of alcohol per serving either. What we did notice on our last cruise on Celebrity Reflection in January is that anyone drinking alcohol had the all inclusive package - never saw anyone sign a slip of paper for a drink. And surprisingly, the bar service was very good with that many people getting "free" drinks.
My teenage daughter has always gotten the soda package as well. She enjoys a non-alcoholic daiquiri once a day while cruising. This is not included in the soda package, but she has found that very seldom does she get charged for the daiquiri. In fact, on this last cruise, I think she only paid for one out of 7 or 8. Must be her looks - guess she is learning early in life to use what she has to get what she wants....
We've been lucky to never have to order a non alcoholic package for the kids we've always tipped extra to our server/bartender and they just billed anything the kids were drinking to our package. I know its not supposed to happen but theres always exceptions to the rules right
My kids were even helping prepare drinks last year
