I think there must "supposedly" be one of these in every area, someone once told me there was one in Huntingtown. But I have a few relatives from different areas that supposedly have them near their house too.

As I remember it, crybaby bridge was on the section of St. Andrews Church Road that was bypassed. It went over the swampy area. I think you can still go over it if you take the Old St. Andrews Church Road cut off.

Location: Hollywood (Saint Andrew's Church Road Bridge)
Ghost Name(s):
Description: There is a bridge located near Hollywood, Maryland, along St. Andrew's Church Road. The bridge crosses over a dark, swampy area. This location is home to two different ghosts. One is the spirits of a young woman whose husband had gone off to fight in World War II. She was pregnant when he left. After the war was going to be his first chance to for her husband to see his young son. Shortly after the war ended, she received a telephone call in the middle of the night from her husband. He told her that he was in Hollywood and that he was borrowing a car and would be coming home in a few minutes. There house lay along old St. Andrew's Church Road. The woman was so excited about seeing her husband that she bundled up the baby and started walking to meet her husband along the way. There is a bad curve in the roadway, just before the bridge, and the woman was walking around it just as her husband drove quickly around it from the other direction, there was no way that he could stop. The young woman was killed instantly and the baby flew out of her arms and over the side of the bridge. The baby's body was never found. People who cross the bridge today, often hear the sound of a baby crying and see a young woman running frantically back and forth as though searching for it. The cries of the baby seem to come from the waters below and the creek has been dubbed Cry Baby Creek over the years.

The one I went to was in Bladensburg md. I didn't hear the baby cry, but it was very scary there! We turned the car off and just sat there on the bridge for about 15 mins, heard other sounds, but no baby!

I have decided that I don't like any of you all. I just read that excerpt and now I have it on my mind. I just took St Andrews from 235 to 5 when going to the County Fair. Did not know it was haunted along that road. I heard that Point Lookout was haunted and now this, I can not read these things as a single woman. I am not scared and it's close to my bed time. Aarrggghhh....

In case you wonder why I read it, it was just romantically intriguing, couldn't pull away. Besides, I liked it better when everyone was stating places that was really far away from me. Ok, Lights back on and I will be saying my prayers for sure tonight.

When we were riding (horses of course) on Moll Dyer when I was young, I once reached in a broken cript and pulled out an arm bone. I put it back. Now I am wondering what the hell was I thinking?? :confused:
