cutting hair?

Has anyone else had a child that really did a number on her hair? My daughter got a hold of school scissors and gave herself a nice mullet! I thought I was going to die!
I took her and got a nice little haircut, to even it up. She still looks cute but so much more grown up. She is only 4! :(

Aw, your daughter is very beautiful!

To answer your questions, no, none of my kids haven't done that yet.

I think your daughter's hair looks adorable this way. It really brings out her facial features, I think!

[I have boys - they never cut their own hair. Just clothes. :lmao:]

No child of mine has done a number, but I did get bubblegum stuck in my hair when I was about 5. Mom cut my waist length hair (she was ticked off) to above my ears and I wore a rabbit fur hat to school the next day (the kind with the pom poms tied underneath the chin) My teacher cried when I finally took it off (she made me)

Your daughter looks beautiful.

I should have taken the picture before we had it fixed. I can only laugh about it now.

I'm so glad to hear that my son is not the only one to do this! My mom had bought him this really nice adidas warm up suit and one day I find a nice little triangular cut in the leg. Evidently he was playing with the scissors and decided to try them out on his clothes. Ugh -- I could've killed him! :jameo:

My son would never do anything like that

My son sported the same haircut as yours when he was in Kindergarten. Of course, I never thought to take a pic. But, just change the hair color to red and you would have a pretty good facsimile!! :lmao:

I dont have a child but when I was younger, sometime in elementary school, I got the genius idea that I was going to thin my own hair. And as many times as I had seen it done on me, somehow I never noticed the part where while they are using the thinning scissors they make snips at the different levels, starting from the base of your hair moving out towards the tips. So I went snipping crazy right at the base of my head and when using those things, you dont realize how much you have cut until you brush it out. Not only did I really thin my hair, I managed to have a nice little mohawk wherever I parted my hair and right around my forehead. Iven to this day, I haven't lived that down.

My niece did that to her hair when she was about 3. On Wednesday evening, the day before Thanksgiving. My SIL was having 40 people over the next day for a full-blown Thanksgiving dinner.

Your daughter is beautiful! She does look more grown up with the new 'do! My daughter, a few months back, took a chunk out of her hair. Kind of in the back, but up top (like where your head would start to curve downward). It was about half an inch from the scalp! I was mortified as she, too, has really long pretty hair. Fortunately, I didn't have to cut it off - just had to comb it better so that that spot wsa covered!

Two out of our 4 children did that when they were young. Around the same age as your daughter. We have twins who are now 26 years old. I can't remember who cut whose hair, but one of them thought that they were the baby stylist.
Parents may get angry, but that will not solve anything. What's done is done. I would tell the child what he/she did was very wrong, and that scissors are very dangerous, and that they could have been hurt. So I would be thankful that all she did was cut her hair. She is adorable! :yahoo:
