Cyberpower PC

Coworker bought 5 of them about a year ago from them and has been completely satisfied. His son's system had an issue early on but they not only fixed it but upgraded it slightly in the process with a better processor and more memory. My brother in law also got one from there and so far has been happy with it.

pretty pcs, but look at the graphics cards, they're crap. Don't settle for anything less than an NVIDIA 8800 GT or an ATI Radeon 3870. You could buy from here and then just upgrade your graphics card. I recently bought an 8800 GT from newegg for $180 after rebate. If you're planning on only playing WoW, then you can buy an 8600GT card for less than $80 now.

I've bought 2 systems from them and it's the only place where I'll buy my PC's from. Best deal for a custom built system!

If you select a PC it tosses you into a configurtor where you can upgrade any of the components in the package.

That's pretty cool, but be careful when you go through that configurator, at first you'll think you're spending only $600, after upgrading a few things here and there it turns into over $1000....your video card upgrade could be about $200 more, you might need a new lcd monitor, and I'm not sure if all the pcs come with the OS, but at least there's a lot of free stuff. guess you're asking because today is the last day of the sale.

Not going to buy today (they have sales and specials almost every month) but after looking around for a month or two, this place looks like te best bang for the buck. I've found reviews here and there, mostly positive, but I wanted to find first hand info if I could.

You're right about the cost creeping up! Just for kicks I did a "I'd like to have this" config and ended up at just under 3K. :lmao:

I used to drool over the alienware desktops a couple of years ago and I almost paid over $3500 for one. Right now I think I have a better gaming PC that doesn't cost half that amount after upgrading it. however.....it's running Vista, but at least I have a Windows Experience Index of 5.9 in everything except for a 5.6 in Memory if anyone cares about that crap......

Hell, I don't bother trying to do my own upgrades anymore. I've fallen so far behind I'm not even bothering to try to catch up. I'm picking components based on reviews instead of trying to understand the underlying changes.

The new processor numbering/naming conventions have left me  that's for damn sure. At least with video cards as the model numbers ascend, so does the performance (for now).

to be perfectly honest. i wouldn't buy a prebuilt PC anymore. you can build one twice as good for half the price. it might sound complicated but everything comes with basically a step by step picture book to tell you how to build it. newegg.com is the place to buy all your parts. just make sure you look at the tech specs and match all the pieces together to you know they're compatable.

5/5 hyjal, 5/9 bt. archimond is a joke. its more of an idiot check than anything. boot the morons that die from falling and its an easy kill.

Alienware ...........

Alienware is sooooo overpriced it's not even funny...

Plus, the components they use are subpar to say the least...

I used to build comps when I was in college for people and used to make money doing it.

I, however, just bought a rig from dell.

I don't have the time - actually didn't want to wait - and have the money to blow it on a pre-fabbed unit.

EVGA 680I A1
Intel Q6600 at 3.55
OCZ Reaper Ram
BFG 8800GT
OCZ 700 watt
CPU on water to combat OC temps

cleared, cleared, kalecgos, brutallus down.

Anyways....why not build your own?

KEK.

Well, I probably could have, but I'm more of an immediate gratification kind of guy now.

Not having to live on a military/student budget has made me soft.

KEK.
