Well, I probably could have, but I'm more of an immediate gratification kind of guy now.

Not having to live on a military/student budget has made me soft.

I order the parts from Newegg, they arrive ... an hr assembly time .... you always have to patch and update right out of the box .... so maybe an extra 30 min for the Formating and installing ...... so an extra 2 hrs

Like I said.

I've built a ton of computers in my day.

In fact - I still have to build some at work - rack mounted servers etc. when we build development systems.

The last thing I want to do is build that stuff at home

But, it is/was fun. You know exactly what you're putting in and you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself...

Heh.

That's a small - very small - part of the work I do. The only reason I build them is because I know the processing power/hardware that's needed for the code I write.

Seems like you really like computers.

Have you ever thought about getting into programming?

The schooling can be difficult, but anything you don't know/understand can seem difficult at first...

You can make some outstanding moolah in this industry...

..... they just cost more ... like my Jeeps ..

I am Temp Contracting @ Six Flags America ..... at the mo ....

Programming is something that has always interested me .... because of this project I dreamed up yrs ago .... but never had a chance to get into ... I have done some WMI Scripting ... and VB stuff to make Network Managment easier ....
