D.C. : The Founding Fathers Would Be Proud

This is a good thing. If you have to show ID to get in, maybe they'll have to show ID to get OUT. Hey, maybe we could build a big wall around these areas and if you live inside the walls you have to be inside by a certain time and then the gates close. If you are caught outside the walls after closing, off to jail. If you try to leave without permission from the Govt, off to jail. If you're on the Gov't list, you're required to live inside this area or off to jail you go. Sounds like a workable plan, but where have I heard it before????

NOT Politically Correct!!
The plan is to wall in certain area's of DC and then airdrop in drugs, knives and guns and let them fight it out till no one is left.:sarcasm:

Sounds like the green zone in Iraq...

As of now, the wall is the last thing needed then!!!

Once an area is designated, signs and checkpoints will go up and neighbors will be notified. Any car trying to enter the designated neighborhood will be stopped, and drivers and passengers will have to produce identification. They will also have to give an explanation as to why they are there.

Pedestrians will not be affected by the new policy.

And this makes sense because...

Lanier says as long as they stop every car it is legal.
Still sounds like a major 4th amendment violation. We'll wait for sommpd or foodcritic to show up to tell us why their right and the bill of rights is wrong.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Sounds very close to "The ends justify the means." I'll take Machiavelli for 1000, Alex. Oh, and about that pesky Bill of Rights...

I've been told repeatedly on here. "if you aren't doing anything illegal, you'll have nothing to worry about"

These are the same people that will be lining up at the court house paying $50 to get a walking lincense in a few years time.

Why would I defend this? While I agree with dwi checkpoints, I don't agree that anyone in America should have to prove who they are or where they are going, unless it is contemporanious with and related to an investigation.
