15 seconds to find this.
President. The fifth Commissioner, who will be President of the Board, shall run at large and be elected by the voters of the entire County. The President must be a registered voter, a resident of the County for at least five (5) years prior to election to office and at least twenty-five (25) years of age. The Board of Commissioners may elect a Vice President to preside in the temporary absence or disability of the President.
That's why I say she did it with intent. Everyone knows GD well that she knew and disregarded the rules. Off with her head!

The question on an appointee is who does the appointing? The sitting gov OR the elected gov after the inauguration? The BoCC starts working before the state does so my guess would be the sitting gov would have that task. I'm sure @Ken King can shed some more light on this.

Either way, an appointee completely bypasses the will of the people of St. Mary's County, and not voiding any votes for her is a complete violation of election law in my eyes.

Honestly, it's unlikely she'll win so it's fairly moot EXCEPT it sets a bad precedent. Rules are rules and you don't just get to ignore them because you're a cheating Democrat acting like the rest of your disgusting corrupt criminal pedo-groomer party.

I believe she works for county government, is that correct? Yeah, she needs to be fired immediately. And so does everyone on the state and county Board of Elections because they ignored this - don't give me any twaddle that they didn't see it; they blatantly ignored it. Cheating ****ing bastards. DIE AND GO TO HELL, CHEATERS.

She's either a liar or a dummy. Either way, she shouldn't hold an elected position and her current employ ought to be suspect as well.

As you mentioned County Commissioners take office before the new Governor (commissioners - 1st Monday in December; Governor - 3rd Wednesday of January). So the old Governor could seat a temporary commissioner and then the new Governor would advance a nominee to the Senate after they take office for the permanent replacement.

As this "issue of qualification" was identified prior to 10 days before election day there should be a certificate of designation filed by the party to name a replacement candidate. If one is not named the vacancy will be treated as occurring after election day.

Never having looked at the paperwork one must file to be a candidate, doesn't the candidate swear or affirm, under penalty of perjury, that all information on their filing is true and correct?

Perhaps it's the part where she has precisely ZERO ties to SMC?
Exactly. And her reference to the revitalization of Leonardtown. She wasn't here 30 years ago when the square was a chithole.

We did talk to a store owner in Millison Plaza not too long ago that said they are closing due to the high rents and that the Planners want to do the same for LPCity like was done for Ltown. Hard to picture that area to be like Ltown, especially after dark.

It seems her only tie here is her husband's job.

At least she did admit to her mistake which is a good start. I'm surprised all the people talking about following the
rules etc and when former president Trump takes national security documents and highly classified information home that is considered
OK just because he said so. When will people stop looking at everything through a republican did this or a democrat and call balls and strikes and hold both parties accountable.

And I would say half the people in the county are here because of a spouse job.

For your consideration ...

She's a lawyer and was just hired by smcps. Maybe as an English teacher but not 100% sure.
Actually, there's more. She says she received a BS in legal studies, and a Juris Doctorate, and worked as an associate, (think such as a Walmart associate), at a business law firm, and virtually, (how does that work), operates her practice that is located in Orlando FL. However, she is not licenced to practice law in Maryland. She, per her webpage, also serves as a commissioner on the Housing Authority of St. Mary's County. I wonder if she stepped down from that position before filing for office.

She's a grifter.

Oh yeah, @Gilligan. It appears she is a neighbor of yours down there on the island man. Right off Ball Point Rd. Why not mosey on down and have a political chat with her?
