Way to go, Pops!"I am still considering getting him a game for his Nintendo. Maybe something like Barbie as the Island Princess or Dancing with the Stars ... I know he will just love them," the father said, tongue-in-cheek.
I guess if it was on the news it must be true BUT I smell something fishy. Guitar Hero III for Wii is available in Saint Mary's County for pete's sake which must mean it's got to be available nearly everywhere. And there's a gazillion of them on ebay - highest price I've seen is $200 something and the bidding hasn't gone that high yet. And a friend of mine ordered it off Amazon just three days ago and it's already being shipped. For the $90.00 it's advertised for plus shipping. Is $900 dollars in Australia only $90 here or something?
It was a good Christmasy story however - you know one of those heartwarming things your parents bring up around the dinner table on holidays?

ok lets be real here....how many of us did that in our teens? and if dad is able to not give his child christmas presents for being a teenager...then poor kid! i would think there would be another way to approach this other than take a kids christmas away! but who cares as long as mom or dad is happy right? and now have money for themselves..... go back in time when you were his age...

...he didn't take his Christmas away, he took a gift away, a gift tied, as the song goes, to being naughty or nice.
He said he was getting him the Barbie game
FYI - Christmas isn't about loot
yeah, i mean...if your parents disapprove then you are taking a risk by smoking.
Personally, I drank when i was younger and my parents actually did care and wouldn't have wanted me drinking, but i was taking a chance. Don't know what they'd have done if i got caught because they never really cared when I drank with them, but they wouldn't have wanted me drinking w/o them at that age. Now they don't care as long as i'm responsible (i'm almost 19). and they trust me to be responsible.
Honestly though, i'm not sure what their stance is on weed...so i'm not going to bring it up that this weekend I finally said "wth" and took a couple hits. I know they've both smoked before (ok, not 100% sure, but they have said enough to make me lean that way lol), but that doesn't mean they are ok with me smoking. I guess what i'm getting at is that you should probably know your parent's stance before you do it. If you do it and they don't care then obviously its no big deal, but if they care then you have to decide whether the risk is worth the reward (and with smoking/drinking, it probably isn't...but personally i'm not against either...to each his own...i'll personally never smoke a cig though because i've watched the parents be addicted my whole life... ASS: )
