The prisons are over crowded as well as the detention center. I quess they also do not need one or two more children in foster care. Her mother is not the only victim here. With the conflicting reports there seems to be a missing boy around 8 and a little girl of about 4. Does any one know where or what has happened to them? The news reports do not mention either and there has been no Amber Alert. What's up with the kid(s)?

Better for them to be raised in foster care than with a criminal mudering psycho mother!
They need to put some money into the prision/detention center, EXPANSION. Probably better than putting them out on the street over and over, just to foot the bill each time they go to court.
But that's just my opinion.

Calvert County's second homicide of the year surfaced Wednesday when police found a 53-year-old grandmother dead in the trunk of her blue Honda Civic. Police arrested and charged the woman's daughter in connection with the death.
County resident Barbara L. Hampton told investigators that she and her mother, Pamela S. Varner, were arguing violently over cigarette money, according to documents filed in court yesterday. Hampton is reported to have admitted that she shoved her mother, who fell backward, struck her head on a bed frame and hit the floor.
Barbara Hampton said she put her mother's body in the trunk of a car, documents say.
According to the documents, filed by the Maryland State Police, Hampton said she left for a convenience store after the fight on Monday night. When she returned, she is said to have told investigators, her mother was dead. Varner was a Defense Department employee who suffered from muscular dystrophy.

I wasn't saying the kids would not be better off in Foster care, I was saying they were not doing anything because of the over crowding in the prisons and jails and that maybe the state didn't want another bill for a child in Foster care. The children needed taken away long ago. After this they may need lots and lots of therapy to get over the hurt and shock. Hopefully they will not blame themselves.
