I'm skeptical about red flag laws because it never seems the "back end" is ever addressed. At some point the person accused has to be evaluated and adjudicated. Preferably in a reasonable time frame and at no cost to the accused.

Yep, pre-crime punishments seem counter to innocent until proven guilty/mentally incompetent.

And before they break the door down to get your guns and someone ends up shooting one of them.

Also the person making the accusation has to be named so if it's found to be a form of abuse they can be appropriately punished.
