Dan Snyder; Dumpster diver...

Portis, in my view, has put up the numbers expected. That's why I left him off.

Then there must've been some pretty low expectations. Over his 6 year tenure at Washington he has averaged 4 yards per carry; which is average. He has averaged 7 TDs per season. For such a star RB, that's abysmal in my opinion. Of course he racks up about an average of 1300 yards per season, but that’s not all that hard when he’s given the ball about 21 times per game. Not to mention his getting injured each and every season.

He’s nothing more than an average player. Not a bad player but the trade with Bailey turned out to be nothing more than dumpster diving when you consider how Bailey turned out. Just another big slush buy by Snyder.

I think you're averaging is a little skewed. He has been injured the past few seasons, something expected of an aging running back. Something smart franchises recognize. So, when healthy which has been more often than not he's been very productive. So productive that he's on the cusp of passing John Riggins record a good 4-5 seasons earlier.

I don't agree with this theory at all, while we may be having problems right now, dose'nt any body remember George Allen and his "over the hill gang" A bunch of leftovers that did pretty darn good...

...which didn't do pretty darn good at the end of the season because they were pretty darn "over the hill".

Go a step further, they shut them out for the first 3 quarters and they scored on a tired defense.

Dallas sure does have an explosive offense. :sarcasm:

I talked to a co worker in Dallas after that game, he flat out said the cowboys did not deserve the win ....

because obviously the Offense sucked for 3 quarters before scoring, but he said he would take the win non the less

If you think my averaging is skewed then provide your numbers. I'm not claiming my numbers a completely exactly but they give a clear view of Portis' average performance.

Your definition of productive is far different than mine. Riggins carried the ball an average of 220 times per season compared to Portis' 297 per season. Not too hard to pass up Riggins' rushing record when you're given the ball far more times. Riggins lasted 14 seasons. Portis will be lucky to make it past 10. I'm betting this may be his last. Either that or he will be traded and will run as a backup.
