Dang it!

Can't even figure out how to get the battery out of my bike. I am going to "modify" things tomorrow I think, should not be this hard. 2008 FLHX.
Has a weird plastic cover that holds other stuff. Tale the stuff off, no prob., try to get that cover out of the way. Nope. So I tie it and pull it back. Cool. Now I grab the strap and pull. F'r breaks. Ok. Put the battery screws back in with some washers and tie a cord to them. Something is keeping it held down about an inch. Can't find it.

Nothing in the owners manual and the repair manual I have shows the wrong pictures. I did see a video on you tube I will work with today.

And it's in. Just a matter of pushing forward on the plastic hold down. In the only video that even showed one the guy pushed up on a little tab that mine does not have.

And that didn't do it. Still no start. Turns out I replaced the wrong battery. The one in the key fob that has the security code in it was dead. :banghead:

Oh well the battery was 5 years old anyway, but still, a $3 fix instead of over $100..:ohwell:

:killingme ... I mean that sucks. Mine wouldn't start either a month or so ago and it was the key fob battery as well. I was able to put in the security code and by-pass the fob... good thing I remembered it

I don't even know mine need to get up to the dealer to find out. Guy I bought it from didn't write it in the book and I didn't know to ask at the time.
