Hardly. She may have inspired young girls to watch IndyCar who otherwise wouldn't have, but I seriously doubt she was the sole reason for the vast majority of fans following the series.
While Danica's leaving because she's tired of getting her butt kicked on the road courses, there are currently 3 other women drivers in the series. So the few who are still just watching for the "girl factor" will continue to have that going on.
At least Danica going to NASCAR finally gives me someone to follow over there.
