I've never really done the bar scene. Other than a few nights at tiki, i don't really drink.
But the more it seems to be thick social activity of the area, the more I'm thinking of starting

I used to go up to Waldorf up by Piefield Shopping Center years ago. There was A LOT of eye candy up there. I actually dumbfounded a tall blonde is a short skirt one night. Don't ask me what color here eyes were; I couldn't tell you. This Nordic Goddess and her two friends came in the place and her two friends sat down. Well, she didn't have place to sit, so I got off my barstool, carried it over to her and offered her a place to sit. (The barstool)
'Oh, thank you!' she said, as she kissed me on the cheek and hugged me.
As I walked back over to where my buddies were; all light-headed; I won't explain why; with a 'how ya like me now?' look on my face; they looked at me, shook their heads and rolled their eyes. One of them said, 'I cannot believe THAT worked.' I don't know what he meant by 'worked' but I got a full-frontal hug out of it. ;-P

Grab some dudes and try the 'bar scenes' at happy hour times. Cheeseburger or Applebees can be a different crowd at happy hour than Dew Drop and Donovans at peak bar hour on the weekend.
Join some local sports teams, sign up for a charity run, that's a good way to meet men and women... and don't be pressed on meeting women, you got plenty of time.
Somd can be slim pickins but no different than any other area if you know what kinda person you're looking for.
