Anyone heard of them?
Don't know too much about them but they are listed on petfinder.com as Best DAWG Rescue in Bethesda, MD. Their website is www.dawg-rescue.org. Looks like they have some very nice dogs. They take online applications, do home visits prior to adoption and adopt to the metropolitan DC/Baltimore area. Not sure how far that extends.

You know what they say, if we all waited until we were ready to have children, none of us would have children. She's pretty. :flowers:

I don't know if we know the same lady, but I've included the text of a message sent (from Dawg Rescue) to a friend of mine recently in response to her application for a new animal. They (dawg Rescue) are blocking our complaints, so maybe this media may really get some attention.

"This was Sam's response:
Friend Doe, We have just learned that you lied on your application by leaving off your dead dog. We have learned the circumstances and are totally disgusted. You are responsible for your dog's death and should live with the guilt and his memory haunting you for the rest of your days. The rescue community is tight knit and is quickly spreading the information about your deceitful application. You won't find a new dog easily. If you do, you obviously haven't learned anything from what happened. . For heaven sake, supervising a dog without a leash and without your physical control of his or her whereabouts is potentially a death sentence which you STILL don't get.

Why in heavens name would someone want, or need, to sue a dog rescue?

see bullet's post above. Actually now she is not going to sue them. but they are going to get a letter from her lawyer.

Her dog died in a horrible accident. It devastated both her and her hubby.

:yeahthat: What's the object, to make them go out of business? Granted, some individuals are more outspoken in their opinions as to how people should treat animals and emotions do run high, but if the organization is getting animals to good safe homes why would you want to interfere with that? :jameo: What is the substance of the suit and what are the perceived damages?

That didn't clarify a thing. If I sued everyone who said something nasty to me I'd be one rich mofo. :roflmao:

While I think that rescues have the best interest of the animal in mind, I do think sometimes they get a little 'nutty.' Some of their standards are maybe a little high. It is very easy to adopt from the animal shelter though...they tend to be a little more laid back about adopting...but they still make sure the animals are going to a good home. What is more important, finding the absolutely perfect home for 5 dogs, or finding really great homes for 100 dogs?

Did she leave off the information of her dog's death on the application like they claimed? If so, they could probably sue her for false information but they wouldn't because it would take away their time, energy and resources used for saving other dogs.
