I've already checked the classifieds and I haven't been able to find anything in (Calvert) Dowell school district. Plenty for appeal. :jameo:

I need before school care 5:30-8:30 for an 8 year old!!! Anyone know of ANY daycares that have an opening????

Contact the Calvert County Family Daycare Association. Email the president and tell her what you are looking for. She will then get in contact with registered daycares and you will be contacted with what is available. They hooked me up with an awesome daycare and we couldn't be happier.

Welcome to the Calvert County Family Daycare Association

:yeahthat:

The President of the Calvert Association is VERY proactive in helping people find care. Contact her and she will take care of you.

Or see if any other mothers in your neighborhood stay home & would be willing to care for your child at little or no cost :yay:

Nothing like suggesting she break the law.

Watching a child that is not related to you, for more than 20 hours a month, is against state law.

Oh for heaven's sake. It's not like people haven't been keeping an eye on each other's kids since the beginning of time.

Woman in my neighborhood used to watch a bunch of the kids around here. She got busted for cocaine about a year ago, though.

Licensed daycare providers get drug tested? I didn't know that!
No but they get fingerprinted and their license gets revoked if they get arrested for domestic abuse, which was also the case with this woman. Licensed providers also get unannounced inspections which can potentially head off problems as well.

Need daycare for a total of 15 hours a week!

I have used the Calvert county daycare locator (sp) in the past, and she was able to send me a single name! Our last daycare provider closed hers down because she said she could make more money doing the medical transcription from home than from daycare.

I got a PM here, and I'm still looking. I'll send an e-mail to the locator service again.

I don't think the school offers daycare at 5:30. We are mainly looking for 5:30 - 8:30 in the morning.

Well she said she only needed someone for 3 hours 5 days a week so that would only be 15... so I guess she is good :yay:

Well there ya have it. Slippery slope social theory in practice: She probably started off with nothing worse than ripping the tags off of mattresses, then got in to illegal daycare, ultimately ended up becoming a cocaine addict.

 Sorry..couldn't resist.

All the banter just further proves my point. There isn't enough daycare out there!
