UGH I could scream....

Are people popping out kids left and right out here or what?

I can't find a daycare for my son. Every single daycare is looking for ages 2 and up only. He doesn't turn 2 until September 22nd. The daycares he could potentially go to he has to be picked up by 5 pm and I'm in class until 5:15 on Fridays.

I'm done asking if anyone knows of a good babysitter or daycare because I got flamed pretty badly last time I even attempted to ask such a question.

All I'm asking for is the site I was given before directing me to a child care directory which someone gave me earlier but I forgot to email myself the link.

Whenever I get names for day care I always make sure to ask for more names from the daycare providers that are full. That's how I found my current DCP.
A service gave me the names of about 10 providers in my area.
When a each one informed me if they were fulll, I asked if they knew of any other daycare providers, and in the end I had a longer list to choose from.

I assume you are looking in the Hollywood area? Do you prefer day care centers or home day care or does it matter? I have always used home day care myself, but it's really a personal decision.

Reason everybody is only taking 2 and up is because a home child care provider is only allowed to care for 2 under the age of 2. Spots fill FAST!
Asking full providers for referrals is a wonderful idea. I know my wife passes along names of providers to people looking for care that she can't help because of the 2 under 2 rule.

We breed like rabbits.

Just last week we had another litter. The older litter tried to eat some of the younger ones, but mamma put a stop to it.

You got flamed for that?

I, myself, would like to know of a decent babysitter or daycare around here. Anyone know of anything?

There are two I have seen on St. Johns Road....one is called Toddler Junction and one is called Rise and Shine (I think). One on Brown Road called Meme's Daycare. Other than the names, that is all I know of them.

Good luck...finding decent daycare is at best challenging!

At this point I'll take either or. Eventually it'll be a matter of getting in to a pre-school program... but that's down the road with potty training.

Home daycare would most likely be best for you because you say you have classes past 5 and most daycare centers close then, but with home daycare they are much more flexible with you.

Even with centers there's alot of extra licesensing, insurance, etc for infants (any child under 2 is considered an infant for daycare purposes) that most providers don't want to bother. Two of my relatives own centers in Charles County and have no trouble filling slots for 2 and up.

I wish you lots of luck in your search!
