huntr1 is right. I have a 6 Yo who was in the special ed program since he was 11 months old, attended all the special classes up till Kindergtn. #2 didn't get in, even after atttending the Sp. Ed. preschool program at age 3. It was only 1 year of private pre-K. He has enjoyed it and next year will join his brother at the same school/bus. It's not the end of the world. Think about it- do you really want your kid in with drug dealer kids and wife beater kids? yeah the money part of it and transportation part of it is annoying, don't sweat the small stuff.
My son's pre-K class isn't filled with these drug dealer wife beater kids. You can ask Blondee:yay:

like you said, it all depends on the school and if the "needy" ones fill it up or not.

Priorities. I make many personal sacrifices so my kids can go to private school. When I compare their progress to public school kids their age, no comparison.

If I thought it was worth it, I would.

I went to both private and public schools myself. The only thing private school had over public school was the uniforms.

:lmao:

I went to public school so I can only compare what I remember about my education to what they're getting. I agree with you on the uniforms, but the class sizes are smaller and what sealed the deal for me is that in private school, they don't have to cater to the lowest common denominator. If you don't make the grade, you can't re-enroll and off to public school ya go!

What do I need to do to start a daycare?

I am a new mom and I have decided to stay at home and was looking into starting a daycare that would not be so expensive for other moms. Does anyone know what I need to do? I am paying $175 for my 7month old. I hear now that prices for infants can go anywhre from $175 to $250. I want to start a daycare that does not charge so much.

Wow, what a difference from when my daughter was a baby. I only paid $100 a week. She'll be seven next month.

Good luck and welcome. :yay:

Take CPR and First Aid. Make sure you have wonderful insurance, Homeowners and Car. If something happens to the baby in your care you could lose everything you have.

when we first did the day care thing my wife made me hire a nanny to come to the home and watch the child, (400 a week) then after she saw me looking at the nannies butt, she agreed to go to a private daycare,, (250 a week)

after the new wore off the baby, I was able to get her to let me put the kid in redneck joes home fer wayward critters, 75 a week. ( I never did look at redneck joes butt)

anyway, I think your best bet would be to call the county and ask them what you need to do to start the daycare, I do know that they now come out and inspect your home before granting the license.
