Wonder why none of our previous Presidents did a patriotic salute to America like this on Independence Day. You'd think it would be a standard part of the celebration.

Went maybe 10 years ago. Was an awesome fireworks display. Tv just cant replace the thunderous booms and vivid colors.

I'm too cranky to deal with crowds, security and driving today.

Having grown up 1 mile outside of DC and lived only 2 or 3 miles out until my late 20s, we went all the time. Since I've been down here, I've only gone to the local events. Which are great, but NOTHING compares to Downtown fireworks. The house we lived in when I was young was on a big hill right outside of SE. We could see the Monument. When we didn't go downtown to watch, the whole neighborhood would be out on the sidewalk in their lawn chairs watching. It was a pretty good distance but still, it was a big deal to see them from your street. I really miss those days. I would like to be able to go one more time.

Hub had one of his lib acquaintances say Trump’s speech sounded like an eighth grader. Hub put the guy on snooze for thirty days. And, didn’t schools stop teaching American history in Her true form? Out of control idiocy. The ones that don’t like America should leave, but they won’t, because they know it is the greatest country in the world; where freedom reigns. They use their hate for Trump and America to fill the voids in their lives. Sad for all of US.

Kept hearing planes overhead, so I went out on my front porch and caught 4 jets going over, 2 by 2. The sound of freedom!

Stealth Bomber flew over where I was 3 times..last time with fighter escort. Figured they were circling til the time was right.
