So not only do they have to pay for the time they missed they will need to pay for the next renewal. I was a few days late receiving my sticker in the mail a few years ago and I was pulled over in Waldorf! Officer says I see in the system you are paid so get that sticker on right away when it comes (yes that was the plan lol).

I used to be lax on paying attention when my tags are gonna expire. always expected the MVA renewal notification to jog me into action. 3 years ago, the notification never got to my mailbox and I drove for approximately 3 months on dead tags. When I finally noticed, I was able torenew online, took a screenshot to carry with me until the new stickers came in the mail. Talked to MVA on phone and the woman I talked to says it happens all the time, mail delivery ain't what it used to be. Speaking of mail delivery, my MD tax refund about 10 yrs ago was delivered to my neighbor, sat on her sunvisor for 3 months cuz she stuck it up there and forgot to get it to me.
