dead deer along 235

This morning I was driving on 235 Northbound, and between gates 2 & 1 there is a deer laying in the grass along the base fence with an arrow in it's back. Is it even still hunting season? That didn't seem right, if you are going to shoot a deer, shouldn't you at least track it?

Vaguely marginally related question:

If it's not deer season, and you accidentally kill a deer with your vehicle, is it legal to take it home and eat it?

Assuming you didn't rupture something to make it all nasty.

Very possible that arrow could have been in him for a long time.......And he just happened to walk in front of a car this morning? Maybe it's just been a bad year for him/her?

You sure he/she wasn't sleeping? You should of warned him/her that sleeping beside the road isn't safe. :killingme

Call the cops and they'll give you a tag. Without it you are poaching.

It didn't look like it had been hit by a car, and it wasn't that close to the road. I think that's just where it stopped to die.

I almost stated that but I didn't BC if he hit it hard enough to kill it, there should be enough damage to his vehicle to prove to DNR what happened. You are definately correct though. :yay:

Could be, that does happen. Kind of an odd place though. They would usually seek a more secluded spot.

I thought it was kind of weird, too. Maybe it was looking for a secluded spot and didn't have enough energy left to find it.

There was one at the end of my drive way sunday morning when I was going down to set up for breakfast. I said i will get it when i come home. It was gone when i came home :whack: looked like a county clean up cause they left the blue gloves on the roadside

How is that :drama:?

Are you being serious?

You realize the :drama: crack is a joke right?

As in: the deer is being melodramatic by staggering around looking for a place to die where it can be the center of attention, with the arrow sticking out of its back.

Ha-ha.
