Good for her , my females have always been the hunters . Every male cat I have ever had could care less. My one female years ago used to kill them and place them on the wifes pillow all wet and chewed up. That was always something to see and hear , the screams could be used for horror movies. The wife never liked the cat at all I guess she was either trying to make friends with her by giving her a little gift or thumbing her paws at her , I thinking it was the later. Now I can just get my little hunter killer Cleo to kill the voles in the yard
Male cats are not "wired" to hunt and provide for kittens like the female.
Neutered males can learn to hunt, but do not "know" how to inflict the death bite as successfully as the female.

The cat has been staking out the kitchen - she must be on mouse duty again. Why else would a cat who normally sleeps in cushy places, be laying on the floor in the middle of the kitchen, wide-eyed and ready ...... you get that mouse my beloved shelter kitty!
It's amazing what you can end up with when it comes to cats, they can be so different. She likes to be held and carried around, she's always in a great mood, she runs to greet me when I get home, and she's a mouse eradicator - what else could one want from a cat?
Couldn't want anything else in a cat - sounds perfect!
