Pronounce your last name. I keep calling you "Andy Mar-kwis" (like a European nobleman) and Larry says it's "Andy Mar-kee" (like a sign over a theater).

Which is it?

This is what we do in the morning over coffee - discuss politics and current events - points that forumites have made come up. :cheesy:

To be rid of her here in these forums, you sure bring up her name quite often. I guess some people actually miss Azzy. :huggy:

I always thought it was "Markese"
I just want to know one way or the other - I hate pronouncing peoples' names wrong. Used to have a hell of a time with Ylexot until he posted what it was.

Name an example where Marquis is pronounced "mar-kwis"...I'm intrigued. I've always pronounced it "Mar-kee", and the only name I can think of is Marquis de Sade.

Huh, you learn something new every day. Kinda reminds me of the time D came to my house once when we were first dating. We'd recently watched A Streetcar Named Desire (my favorite), and he commented that he passed a Dubois (he pronounced it the French way) Rd on the way to my house. I had to correct him and tell him that the locals pronounce it "Doo-boys". :roflmao:

And P.S. Mr. John Markwis needs an attitude adjustment. If I knew him I'd pronounce his name wrong on purpose.
