I remember when First Lady Betty Ford was very public about her breast cancer which was something that wasn't talked about very much in those days. Her openness resulted in more women going for screening and learning about self exams and that they didn't have to be ashamed about it. If celebrity can help people become aware of something, then so be it.
Everybody knows that breast and ovarian cancer exist. The only thing Angelina is advocating is preemptively cutting out your body parts *just in case* they become cancerous. Not because they are, but because they might be possibly some time in the future. Maybe.
Testicular cancer in men is very real, but you don't see men getting their balls cut off to prevent it. This sort of hysterical nonsense is strictly woman territory.
And again, that's fine - people can do what they want with their bodies. But I think it's silly. Oh, and PS, I don't want to pay for it so if that's Angie's next suggestion, she can stuff it.
