I thought one of DiCaprio's best performances of late was in Shutter Island. Neat film.

really? I thought it was horrible....completely went in to that expecting to see something great and was real disappointed...then again that happens most of the time now a days..

I hope nobody looks for natural in a Quentin Tarantino movie.

I think Brad Pitt is the finest actor of our generation. Almost every performance is stellar, especially the more difficult roles like the guy in Snatch, Jeffrey Goings in 12 Monkeys, and this role in IB. Very talented and diverse. The only other actor who comes close to him is - and I hate to say it - Leonardo DiCaprio.

I love Leo my fav!

And I agree Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys was stellar! I watch that movie and every time pick up on something that I didnt see before.

STOOpid. I found it offensive to religion, #1, and #2 is that every other word was some extreme profanity. It could have been a good movie, but it seemed like it was made by a bunch of 15 year old Beavis and Buttheads trying to see how much offensive material they could cram into one movie.

Not that I am averse to profanity - god knows I use enough of it. :jet: Nor am I a religious person. But the whole thing just seemed 7th grade to me.

Um...there's no hope for me.

I also didn't like American Pie, fwiw.

I just don't like that sort of thing. It seems dumb to me and a waste of time.

I didn't like american pie either. But theres one part of porky's that sends me into fits..when they are talking about id'ing the guy that put his umm...manparts in the hole in the wall. Classic. Beyond funny. But generally I agree with you. gross and immature for the sake of being gross and immature doesn't usually entertain me.

Gross and immature AND horribly funny is one thing. Gross and immature for it''s own sake, as you say, is not so much.

Back to school was a tard fest of ZERO redeeming value. South Park is great stuff.

i think the difference here is the social satire I enjoy so much. Witty observant grossness makes me laugh..grossness for it's own sake..not so much. :buddies:

I'd like to see film makers actually get creative with their themes, bringing their point home with intelligence and grace instead of ham 'n egging it with the gross out and profanity. Again, it's not that I'm against nudity or profanity or anything like that - it just seems a cheap cop out to me for someone who's supposed to be an "artist".

Dogma, to me, is the equivalent of Piss Christ or Elephant Feces Mary.
