When Ernesto came through in '06 Kessler's opened up the old quarry behind them for debris disposal. Maybe they'll do it this time too.

Any details for St Mary's county???

Found out the hard way but landfills are not taking debris...they have two sites set up at Larry Hills Excavating on route 5 south of Callaway light and another location on Golden Beach Road, I believe. I went to the one in Callaway and it's really easy and free.

Convenience Centers. All Convenience Centers are currently operating under normal business hours; Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Roadside Collection. Removal of storm damage debris such as logs, limbs, stumps, brush and leaves from the edges of county – maintained roadways will begin on Tuesday, August 30, 2011. If yard waste debris is deposited along the roadway, crews will be able to remove the material, but this is not a scheduled curbside collection program.

St. Andrews Landfill. To further assist homeowners that were impacted by Hurricane Irene, the St. Andrews landfill is also open Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM until further notice. The tipping fee for St. Mary’s County residents will be initially waived through Tuesday, September 13, 2011, for the disposal of storm related debris such as furniture, appliances, textiles, food waste, carpet, padding, insulation, sheet rock, etc.

Debris Collection Sites. Due to the amount of material anticipated, individuals, contractors and government agencies wishing to haul their own yard waste (vegetative debris) will be allowed to do so free of charge seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The following Yard Waste Collection Sites were activated on Monday, August 29, 2011:

Charlotte Hall Region: Parlett / Burch and Associates property (left side of Golden Beach Road, ½ mile east of MD Route 5);

Dameron / Ridge Region: Kessler Development Company site (adjacent to Kessler Body and Equipment Company on MD 235, seven miles south of NAS Patuxent River);
