It's really the middle and high schools you need to be concerned about. Currently the better school is Leonardtown High. That's taking into consideration teachers and the children your kids will be attending with. Leonardtown has a wealthier influx of families. Call me a snob - but we moved to Calvert County because there was less issues and better grades among the schools in the district. Also Calvert has a more pronounced Special Education program. I have a child with educational needs, he's autistic, and Calvert will better meet those needs.
