Democrats recieve threats due to health care

you know, I keep waking up and looking at the news just hoping to read that someone has finally done the right thing. So far nothing. Threats without action is much like getting empty presents to unwrap on Christmas morning.
A whole bunch of excitement only to discover that nothing good is in the box

Why are you waiting for someone else to "do the right thing"? Watching Fox news and regurgitating scripted outrage from the safety and comfort of your home isn't going to accomplish anything. Get your virtual tough guy, cyber-patriot butt out there and quit waiting on someone else.

I'm not speaking for bcp, but I know that I would like to see civilized debate on both sides about points in the bill (law) that the members have no idea about. I'm not holding my breath because the passions are running too high on both sides of the issue.

Case in point:
Anthony Weiner (D) NY, was on O'Reilly Wednesday night and he was asked, "Who is the enforcement arm of the new law?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Who levies the fines for the folks that do not buy health insurance?"
"Bill, this is the problem misinformed people asking nonsensical questions."
"Is it the IRS?"
"Can I answer the question?" Then it turned into :blahblah: Without answering the question.

On Thursday night Bill stated that the IRS is indeed the enforcement arm for the law and wondered aloud why Mr. Weiner did not answer the question. He and Laura Ingraham surmised that either Mr. Weiner was withholding the truth (lie of omission) or just hadn't read the bill and flat out did not know.

I can tolerate O'Reilly in small doses because his interview style reminds me of Chris Matthews (not a fan of his at all) but he does raise valid points and is not a bomb thrower married to rigid ideological beliefs a la Beck.

Having Fun!
Does "Why don't you live under the same bill you're forcing on us?!" count as a death threat?

Well, if it doesn't yet, it will when they are older.

I am absolutely amazed at the reactions this is getting. I don't know why the Democrats (I would have said politicians but since no Republicans or Independents or Libertarians or any other party were involved, yes, I did say Democrats) are shocked that they are receiving irate phone calls and emails full of people saying mean nasty things. Are they really so clueless that they just really don't get how ANGRY people are? And they've NEVER been threatened before, over any of the other stupid decisions they've made over the years? Right!

So, either we believe that they're so entirely clueless that they had NO IDEA that people were this upset
OR
they are publicizing this deliberately to divert attention from the screw job that they just gave everybody.

You choose!

NOT Politically Correct!!
Although I would never do it, If what politicians do drives people crazy and causes them to snap then maybe, just maybe they should be accountable for the mental anguish they caused. I'm sure the ACLU has 100's of lawyers to support the action.

Last I checked Holder and his ACLU buddies were willing to defend terrorist for the wrongs, oppression, and mental anguish by the American people on the terrorist way of life. I'm not seeing a whole lot of gray area on American politicians doing it to the American people.

Try this, walk up to some dude and tell them to go Fuk themselves, some may laugh and walk away, others may say you're rude, and a very small minority may punch your teeth into the back of your head which they should be held accountable for.

Political decisions have the same affect because it most likely affects someone else's life. So in summary, the political windbags just told 65%+ Americans to go Fuk themselves, don't biatch at the response your getting because if that's the case, everyone in public service would be holding a Fing news conference...

Making death threats and threats of violence is anti-American and utterly disgusting. Some people may not have wanted health care reform but most Americans did. They went to the polls and elected the people who could give it to them. For once the elected officials followed through and delivered. If you didn't get your way don't make threats and violence, get to the polls and vote when it is time and maybe you will be able to elect who you want.

Right now, and for the last year, the polls do not substantiate your claim that most Amercians wanted health care reform. At least not to the point of the Government taking it over. Maybe a bit of regulation and accountability on the cost, but not the total takeover with mandatory compliance.

When Americans went to the polls a few things happened.
the biggest one that I think happened was illegal voting practices by the democrats. Double voting, registering beyond the cutoff date etc.. Then I think a large portion of the votes that obammy recieved were votes to bring the troops back, remember that promise? the troops should have all been home now and we should have been holding hands with the middle east.
At least half of obammys votes came from people sending a message to the republicans for the actions of George Bush.

Interesting thing here.
People claim that because obama was elected, it was a mandate for the insurance take over and anything else he wants to do. And because of that we are to applaud all things he does.
Think back. When George Bush was elected, mostly the second time when people already knew who he was, that certainly had to be a madate from the people to continue doing what he was doing. And he did it...

look at what it did to the election in 2008. Do you really think that the dems are going to have a chance?
the only way that obama is going to be re-elected in 2012 is if the republicans take over again in November and happen to be the faces sitting there when these tax hikes hit. The dems will need someone to blame for what is about to happen in order for obammy to get re-elected.

obama isnt stupid, he knows he is selling off the career of every democrat in congress in november in trade for his chances in 2012.

Based on the elections, the only definitive referendum there really is, majority of people voted for Obama and the Democratic representitives to do exactly what they said they were going to do.

It doesnt matter what 75-95-99% of the Citizens want or support the legislation if only 40% of them vote

Kinda. 2004 Bush talked a Conservative game and people elected him for that. The backlash felt in 2006 and 2008 was because Bush, and the Republicans in control, didnt walk the walk. In other words, they were elected for one thing and booted for another.

Thats different than Obama. He ran on a Liberal platform and for the most part has been holding true to what he ran.

Depends on who shows up to the polls, which directly relates to who the GOP puts forth as a candidate. If its another clone of Obama (like McCain) then you can probably expect 4 more years of Obama.

Most Americans wanted an overhaul of the current health care system. Most Americans did not expect a partisan, back door dealing, shady bill that is filled with more entitlement that will eventually lead to a total Government takeover by government with a proven track record of failure with Medicare, Medicaid, VA, Post Office and cash for clunkers to name a few.

Maybe when the government schedules your new mandatory death counseling your eyes will finally open before they close them for you... :coffee:

It's "received" and the threats are childish. We're better than this (which i find myself saying more often).

When politicians start playing games with peoples lives stupid people react differently. Far left liberal politicians, ACLU, etc. coddle stupid, dependent, entitlers so they should have been smart enough to know the potential backlash of their actions.

Here is THE problem. Going DC and REPRESENTING YOUR CONSTITUENTS was once looked upon as a chore and was never meant to be a "career". Think about it, the early members of congress had to leave their farms and businesses to go and help setting the foundations of our country because they saw it as a duty to be finished up with as soon as possible.
