Dennis Point Marina

Daughters and granddaughters rode down yesterday to show me the new car my #2 daughter bought. We decided to go have lunch, the preference was someplace on the water. I suggested Dennis Point. I've got to say, it was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. Both daughters had a Bloody Mary, one made with jalapeno infused vodka, which the waitress informed us, is made by the chef. I had a taste of both and they were the best Bloody Mary's I've had. I had a softshell sandwich, #1 daughter had a BLT, #2 daughter had tuna salad made with fresh tuna. We all had a cup of cream of crab and fried pickles. Granddaughter #1 had cheeseburger and granddaughter #2 had hamburger. Everything was fresh, delicious and served by a wonderful server whose attitude was wonderful. Forgot to mention the homemade bleucheese dressing. Out of this world!!

I highly recommend this place.

Rick brought his "A" game to that place and its really starting to show. That, and the "newish" owner of the marina is laser-focused on making the entire marina one of the best...and they scored a Marina-of-the-Year award recently in one or two of the judging categories.

Tickles me no end..because its barely a 10-minute boat ride from my dock to theirs, but its been quite a few years since there was any reason to go there.

Best of all worlds..LOL. Tall Timbers is a good 20-minute boat ride but only 10-minutes driving by road. Dennis Point is a 10-minute boat ride but easily 20 minutes drive time on the road.

It's great to finally have three good restaurants right here in the 'hood again. It's been a very long time since I could say that. If somebody that knew what they were doing would take over the Island Crab House (old Evans location), then we would have four!

Wonder if they're making any changes/improvements to the campground

Quite a few. Dock/pier upgrades, new nature trail, outdoor movies/bingo and the like, fenced in community garden area....some landscaping improvements.

A lot of the upgrades have been more for benefit of the "permanent" site residents though. The transient sites are pretty much as they've always been.
