There is a man in Mechanicsville and he did my Uncle Stanley's braces for $200. He is not a trained dentist, but he is pretty good and cleans my grandma's teeth with a hunting knife. Anyways, my Uncle Stanley had teeth like a jackhammer and he used to nearly chew his bottom lip off everytime he ate dinner. That man used some scrap metal and fashioned up some braces for my uncle and they worked great! He even filed his teeth down for free! When them braces rusted away, my uncle's teeth was much better and a sight to behold. The only thing is you can see the bone in a couple of places where the metal digged into his gums but otherwise it looks pretty good. That man has done a few more since then and he practices on animals all the time. His rates are good and he gives a discount for adults and babies under 4 since they don't need to be knocked out as much. He can do it in his backyard or he will even come to your house if you lock up your dogs. I believe his name is Kenny and he has the big wishing well in his front yard.

Yes, he does sell pics. He has straight ones for the front teeth and crooked ones to get in the back. They work great and they are much better than wooden pics that bust and splinter up between your teeth. He makes them from plexi-glass and gets them razor thin on his grinder.

FYI: Starting in July 2006, federal government employees will have dental insurance as an option. I know this doesn't help ya now Pix, but the rest of us can be happy. :huggy:

I have CIGNA, and they cover 50% of adult orthodontics.
I have Cigna, but my plan doesn't cover orthodontics. I pay separately for Guardian Dental, but I'm not sure what their coverage is for adult orthodontics. I'm guessing it's probably zero.
