I have a spot on my face that wasn't there a year ago but with me being 45 this year I decided to call it an age spot... now you are making me think twice...:ohwell:

Thinking twice is a good thing. Peace of mind, even better.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Triana who diagnosed and treated my melanoma.

Janet Benton, NP (works in their practice) is also very thorough.

You're right about Janet. She is beyond thorough, I see her every 6 months and hubby sees her annually (to shut me up, lol) because he's had no issues. She found a mole the size of a pen point that was pre-cancerous and removed it. I didn't even know it was there, it was on the back of my leg. I recommend her to everyone, she's been doing this a very long time and she's a sweetheart.

Get it checked, if for nothing else but peace of mind. I know I'm probably a bit paranoid but after losing my Dad to melanoma....better to be safe than sorry. It's an evil disease if not caught early.

Either way, this will be a great relief for me. I grew up on the beach, and we didn't have sunscreen when I was little, and I was also one of those people who used baby oil and iodine before we started getting good tanning products. I can't tell you how many times I've had a sun burn. I stopped worshipping Rah about 5 years ago, and I've been wondering.

If I have something questionable, I can have it removed. If not, then I have peace of mind. Annual screenings will become part of my routine medical care, though.

I'm in the same boat as you......born and raised at the beach, on Long Island. Always in the sun my whole life and like you, stupidly lathered on the baby oil during my teenage years to get that extra dark tan. We had a boat growing up and there was no place I'd rather be than out there with my Dad. Grandma had a log cabin on a lake, spent lots of time up there too swimming and boating. Used to go 4 wheelin on the beach and take the jet skiis out all during my 20's. Basically, I just loved the sun. Now I have to make sure I don't follow in my father's footsteps by getting crap taken care of before it's too late. Kinda depressing, really.

Dr. Triana saved my life eleven years ago when he disposed my malignant melanoma. I just took my six year old son to him last Friday for a body scan. I'm awaiting the results back from that. I have total confidence with him.

For my last check up, I tried to get in with Janet but she was booked solid for months so I took an appt with Triana instead. Yes, he's still a jerk.
I saw Triana a little over a week ago, and he was positively fine - helpful, caring, and very professional.

I don't know how many years ago; I went to Dr. Triana to get a "viral wart" removed from my left cheek.....on my fabace. The good Dr. stuck me with a needle two or three times and commenced to cutting, digging and stitching.
You can only tell something was done if you look REALLY close.
