Devastating news

I found out this morning that my friend from back home 6 month old baby boy has a brain tumor. The tumor is growing rapidly and they Doctors are dumbfounded. He is at CHKD in Norfolk VA. I have known this girl and her family since i was born. Her Mom and my Mom grew up together. She is like family to me and i just want to take the pain away from her. No parent or child should go through this.


UPDATE: I just got a call saying that test results say brain cancer.

soo sorry to hear this. I will say a prayer for the baby and hope they can get the tumor to quit growing so this baby can live a nice life.

That is the ####ing WORST. That is simply horrible.

This is why ever day and every little thing my kids do is precious to me; life is terribly fragile. I got to spend nearly an hour on the phone last night listening to my 10 month old grandson coo and giggle and mom pluck boogers from his nose. Just made my day.

Just the thought of him being sick is crushing.

God, I'm sorry. Time for a miracle. :buddies:

Thoughts and prayers on the way! We received some horrible news ourselves about our 4 year old yesterday so I can almost relate.


They are precious gifts aren't they!

Thank you all. I already had a friends son pass away a little over a year and half ago from some brain issues. I don't know what it was called.. He was only 1 1/2. It breaks my heart to see my friends and their children go through his. Everyday i am truly thankful for the life that i have with my kids.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear this, it absolutely breaks my heart. No child should have to go through this. Horrible enough for adults, but children? Whenever I hear things like this, I want to hold & hug my son and never let him go.

SoccerMom my thoughts and prayers to you and your friend and both your families.

CableChick thoughts and prayers for you and your family also. Things like this break my heart, but especially when it comes to children.

Prayers to both of you and your families (and soccermom, to your friend as well) - it is actually weird for me to see this posted this morning, I am taking my daughter to the doctor this afternoon because of two marble sized hard lumps, one on her hairline and one on her neck.
I am just sick - my husband is trying to reassure me that they are just lymph nodes and I really hope that is the case, but it has made me actually *think* about things like cancer and for a child to have to go through that, and what the parents must go through mentally... oh it just breaks my heart. I hope our news is ok at the doctor - and again prayers and positive thoughts to those of you who are going through that or know someone that is going through that.

Think positive, I know.....so much easier said than done. I'd be a complete basket case. Please let us know what happens, I'll be thinking of your family. :huggy:

My heart just dropped when I read brain cancer.. Just went through that with my dad in 06.. So sorry...

So sad...makes my heart hurt. poor little people :( its good to remember though that childhood cnacers are generally very treatable..so be hopeful and encouraging! Hope is the best medicine of all.
