Is there a difference between devices that are ATA 100 and devices that are ATA 133? Are they interchangeable?

Hard drive? Doesn't matter as long as you've got an Ultra-ATA ribbon cable.

Are you fixing on dumping an assload of money into an older box when pc's are almost disposable?

Nah I'm planning on building a new system and was wondering if I should pay attention to that.

Get a SATA motherboard Intel Core2Duo. You can probably build a decent core duo system for $600.

A good system would want a 2.2 GHz dual core AMD or 1.8 GHz dual-core Intel, 2GB RAM (If you plan on running WinVista), PCI-Express video card with 512MB DDR onboard, HD PCI audio card.

Get a fridge, that would make a 'cool' case. :yay:

I know the differece between the two. I'll probably still go with ATA though.

I'm still deciding what I'm actually gonna get. I am going with AMD processor and DDR2 memory at least.
