We love Splenda. Use it all the time, except for cooking. Twenty of those small packs are enough to sweeten a gallon of tea.

What are the health benefits of Splenda, and if you cook/bake with it, does the food taste the same?

Not the same but closer than Nutrasweet. It also depends on how much heat you use, the artificial sweetners handle heat differently than sugar.

splenda's website does a pretty good job explaining it

What's it 2 U
We never drink diet drinks in our house, so this weekend when my 5 yo was a a party and the birthday girl's mom poured her a glass of Diet Coke with splenda, I expected she would gag. But, she didn't, she drank it right up. So it must not be too bad.

Janet Starr Hull has a very diverse background with Degrees and experience in geology and international geography, environmental science, fitness training, and nutrition.

Last I checked geoligists studied rocks, geographists studied countries and their boundries, enviromental scientists study landfills, fitness trainers studied that exercise was good, and nutritionists study that eating chocolate cake all day makes you get fat.

Nothing in this woman's background gives her any expertise in the field of biochemistry. I suspect she has a lot of stock in sugar cane or corn syrup plants.

This is one of many places to find out about sucrolose. Just do a google search on it. Spend a little time investigating what you are putting in your body. It might be worth it.

I use regular sugar, but would consider Splenda if it were healthier. IMO the benefits don't outweigh the risk, and we're not a particularly unhealthy family to begin with, so we'll stick with sugar. :yay:

After reading some of this google stuff......
These get stored in your fat cells and it may take years to figure out whether they’re influencing your health.
.........is this just as bad as Aspertame?
