Does the calorie count for cooked spinach go up over raw spinach and if so why?

So it sounds like cooking spinach first would be a good way to go if you want to add it to a smoothie. I could eat a quart of cooked spinach and still want more, but raw spinach doesn't add anything except color to a salad, IMO. I dearly love any cooked green as long as they're seasoned. Cooked spinach just needs a little salted butter, but I've eaten it straight from the can, too. I'm not very refined.
