She is the perfect wife and mother…her house is amazing, she has the best cars, the best clothes. Everything she does is perfect……I just do not know how she does it all.

It is funny that you posted this today because I had this same conversation with my Co-Workers today.

The Man and I usually eat a dinner that we compromise on. If he is on travel because of work I eat the things I love and Vice Verse, but when we are together we eat meals that we both enjoy.

When my future Step-Son is with us he eats the meals that we prepare. We do not prepare special meals to accomodate him. With the exception of any Doctor proven allergies; if you cannot get your own kid to eat what you eat, how are you going to get him/her to do what you ask? In the kids eyes, "I got what I wanted for dinner", translates into, "I can get whatever I want for the next situation".

Good night everyone...take care.

If they want different dinners at a certain age I say go for it. But with that they have to cook it themselves and clean up the dishes afterwards.

If they are at the age where I have to cook and clean, then they eat what I fix. Kids these days have everything catered to them like they are the kings of the world. Spoiled....just another way of saying that they do not have to conform to the world but the world has to conform to them.

As for the husband same goes for him. Unless he has a broken foo or arm he can fix it and clean it himself.

I was wondering how everybody deals with dinner time. Do you make different meals to accommodate schedules

:yeahthat:

This is the typical schedule, but we flip flop days as the schedule sometimes changes:

Monday: some sort of chicken and a vegetable
Tuesday: grilled cheese and soup
Wednesday: tacos and rice 'n beans
Thursday: we go out
Friday: pizza

Weekends are based on where we are, what we're doing, and what we're in the mood for.

That sounds good but do you get tired of the same old thing?

Nope. That's why we do different kinds of chicken on Monday, restaurant on Thursday and the weekend is whatever goes! There's enough variety that the same old doesn't get boring.

Dinner 09-13-2006 10:06 AM real healthy menu there :bigwhoop:

I'm a single mom and I do the best I can. When I win the lottery and hire a chef, I'll be sure to send some scraps your way. :huggy:

I was always of the I cooked you eat it, or it's P B & J variety. Luckily the Hubby and kids were pretty easy, and the schedules didn't get too crazy until High school.

Then it was, this is what I made, It's in the oven / fridge when you want it, or you're on your own. They took turns cooking on their days "off" from jobs, sports, etc. and realy enjoyed it. Now that they are grown, they are able to fend for themselves quite well.
