I have this on my hands right now and I am so miserable? :frown:

Does anyone else have this problem?

No? I'm the only one of all forumites? I figured. :coffee:

I read that it affects 1 in 5000 and it is brought on my stress...:banghead: Which means I will never get rid of it. :bawl:

No you are not alone. I have had this since I was in my early 20s. Its probably more worse during the winter months but it definitely sucks azz. I have had to sleep with a steroid cream with gloves on at times when it was really bad. And my husband would be like "quit scratching it, you will make it worse" and I am like its not your ******* hands so leave me alone :cds:

It can be extremely miserable :frown:

Do not take the green side of a sponge to any area of the skin. Ever. :nono:

God, do I understand how badly it itches and the lengths you will go to just try to get it to STOP. Yes, I've had cracked, bleeding hands before in a futile attempt to "scratch the itch."

Have you looked into the possibility of contact dermatitis? I found over the years I am extremely sensitive to most anything with dyes and perfumes in it. My mom had the same sort of thing, would break out severely from immersing her hands in a pan of soapy water, and had to wear rubber gloves to wash dishes.

I found this too was a trigger for me and can only use certain soaps, detergents, and dishwashing liquids else all hell breaks loose. And heaven help me when going clothes shopping. All I have to do is touch the treated fabric and my hands swell up, especially my thumbs. Crazy! :jameo:

Yeah... if my husband tells me to stop scratching one more time, I am going to knock the chit out of him with a Lousiville Slugger. :coffee:

Poor all of us. :bawl:

My hands are falling off! :cds:

Had some allergy testing done today and saw a specialist about the eczema on my hands...

Turns out, I was allergic to everything they tested me for... except cockroaches. :eyebrow: I am not allergic to cockroaches. I am cockroach proof. :killingme

Yay me. :coffee:

My son's dad and he both have the same problem and the docs always give them WESTCORT® (hydrocortisone valerate) Cream, 0.2%. It has always worked well for them to clear up the break outs. Have you tried it?

Yes, did nothing. They gave me clobetasol propionate. It has worked in the past. hopefully will work again. :ohwell:
