Now I'm curious WHY this didn't get as much attention as Carlie Bruscia. It's certainly more sensational, with a father/son duo and that revolting mom.
I suspect that the ones that get the big media attention are the ones where the parents seek it out. That sounds crass (and many times it is) but if nobody wants to talk to reporters, there's no story. Weeping Moms make for good copy.
I know if something happened to one of my kids, very few people would hear about it on the news because I wouldn't be talking to the press or doing interviews on Good Morning America.
It could also be that the parents aren't particularly telegenic, and don't invite a lot of sympathy. But you'd think that little boy's sweet face would be heart-wrenching enough.
