which leads me to be confused about why someone terminating a birth is a bad thing??

Because the law established by ELECTED representatives does not condone the killing of children. It is the NONELECTED activist judges that have declared that if you wish to kill your child, it's a private matter.

don't get me wrong... abortion should not be practiced as birth control, but it should be an option. like assisted suicide.

technically speaking abortion is always birth control no matter the reason. You probably mean using abortion as a method of contraception.

The child could be placed for adoption. There are many couples out there, who can really afford a kid, but can't have one of their own. (not to mention giving the kid a great home life)

I do not believe forced childbirth should be the answer to other's fertility issues.
