Do all movies suck...

Where are my pants?
I rented "Munich" yesterday figuring that as a Spielberg piece it would at least be decent. It was the worst movie I've seen all year--I couldn't even get all the way through it.

Lately I wonder if Hollywood hasn't outlived its usefulness altogether.

And wasn't that an Oscar either nominee or winner?

What's up with these lamer movies? A History of Violence was nominated for two Oscars, too.

Doesn't Hollywood know what sucks and what doesn't?

You are renting movies from the wrong section. You are and adult, so you should only be renting from the adult section. Much more entertaining!

You're welcome.

:yeahthat: I'd like to know who the idiot is that nominates these movies for awards? I think they said War of the Worlds was good. I saw it and thought it sucked. Rather watch the original.

There are certainly many awful films, but there are also quite a few brilliant ones - such as (from last year alone) Match Point, The New World, The Weather Man, Syriana, Munich, Brokeback Mountain, The Matador, Lord Of War, Batman Begins, and Cinderella Man. All absolutely fantastic films I would recommend. So there is definitely still quality spilling out of Hollywood.
