Where do you go?
Cool. I'll be down the street at LBC for the same thing tonight.St. Paul's UMC.
Yep! Notice how he ignored the truth that Jesus was from David's line and greater than David at the same time? I wish I had a dollar for every time I explained that one to people...Yes, the Old Testament descriptions of Messiah are indeed very clear about His appearance and of how to recognize Him. However, the OT prophecies span two distinct periods of activity for Messiah while yet both pointing to the same Saviour of Israel. This is why Yeshua is called the "Stumblingstone"
Just like Nucklesack who is arguing himself into destruction because he isn't able to see the truth. He isn't able because he hasn't allowed God to open his eyes to the truth. He wants is his way and not God's way.Starmann3000m said:As stated, Orthodox leaders wanted to see this happen during the days of Yeshua's claim to be Moshiach. Since swords were not beaten into plowshares and the wolf and lamb did not cozy up to each other it gave them reason to declare Yeshua a fraud and a blasphemer for claiming to be the Son of God.
The conclusion, however, is that this was all within God's Plan in order to offer Salvation for the whole world and not for Israel only. Orthodox zealousness perceived that only the religious leaders had a handle on whom to recognize, accept and declare as their Moshiach. He was right there in front of them all along.
Really good Stuff! I' always want to hear it from practicing Jews.I thought these videos were interesting
I thought these videos were interesting:
" We Jews believe that man is judged by his actions - if you live a righteous life then God is going to reward you..."
Welcome back my friend! We've missed you.
Yes, the Jews were (still are) looking for a fighting, victorious messiah and that's why they denied Jesus - the humble, meek, suffering & dying Messiah. I'm curious (since you're more versed in Judaism than I) what their source of misinterpreted writings is/are since the OT is clear as to who, what, when & where the Messiah would be? Thanks!
It's funny you are so certain the Jews are the ones who misinterpreted everything, considering most people who saw the "miracles" of Jesus didn't believe in him as the son of God or the Messiah or any of that. Christianity was developed from a very small section of people that "witnessed" everything and it grew only through their stories and then through the conversion of the Roman empire. If the Roman empire had converted to Judaism you'd probably be a Jew saying that Christians are wrong since you're in such a feeble state of mind.
