Do the following The Holy Bible Versus contradict?/One Question

My God is able to do anything; far more than I can even imagine. I'll believe the Bible.
:buddies: I say this is a big place where our religious beliefs differ.

My understanding of the God of the Bible is that He expects us to do it and He has already done His part till Judgement Day.

He gave us commandments and principles and directions for us people to do it all.

To believe that Jonah lived three days in a fish is fine by me because it changes nothing and is a meaningless story whether one believes the Jonah story or not.

But for this real world if we want justice and morality then we must do it ourselves and God has already told us how to proceed.

If we keep waiting for miracles instead of us taking our own actions then we miss the mark.:diva:

Again, we disagree and the Bible disagrees, too.

Matthew 7:7-12

7"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

9"Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?

10"Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?

11"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

12"In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16Rejoice always;

17pray without ceasing;

18in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Luke 11:5-13

5Then He said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves;

6for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him';

7and from inside he answers and says, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.'

8"I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

9"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

10"For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.

11"Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?

12"Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he?

13"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
John 14:12-15

12"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.

13"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14"If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

15"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Jesus would not have said ask if He knew we were on our own until He returns. Just the opposite, He told us to ask because He knows we need the gifts and guidance and blessings from God all the time.

I keep trusting that the scales will fall from your eyes.

:buddies: It is okay by me if you do not like me or my message,

but be careful not to post any kind of threat because a person can get into big trouble if anyone does that.

I do not want you in trouble on my account.:howdy:

:buddies: For anyone that wants to go deeper into the Bible messages then the question is in what does He mean by "asking" since many people ask and still get nothing.

The answer is that people must ask with our actions and not hypocrisy.

For instance if one has a destructive habit like alcohol, drugs, smoking, or anything then we can ask God to help us correct the problem but we are to do the work and stop ourselves.

The common way of asking / praying for God to do whatever because the person(s) are going to do nothing themselves is not the correct way to ask.

This is why many people see this as a contradiction because they ask and receive not link HERE.

You make things so complicated it is no wonder you misunderstand scripture.

Of course items of person responsibility require action on the part of the person making the request of God. A drunk may want to stop drinking. That drunk can pray to stop, but God will not knock the bottle our of their hand. The drunk has to put down the bottle as an act of faith that God will give them the strength to not pick up the bottle again. If the person slips up; pray; ask; put down the bottle again.

People always get their prayers answered. Sometimes they just don't like the answer, because the answer may be wait or no.

Mr. Ferrari?

Finally got tired of Batman?
:buddies: I still like "Batman" and a little tired of it too, so it was time to move on to a new title.

Mr. Ferrari comes from the dispicable claims of another poster so I took it as my own.:diva:

:buddies: I do go very deep and complicated in my research because I see the scriptures as being deep and complicated for those that go all the way instead of staying superficial.

Some parts of scripture I do not understand but I do have very much of it figured out.

So did the Pharisees and they didn't get it either. God does not try to hide things from those who read the Bible. You don't have to "read between the lines." The Bible is written the way it is so that it takes faith to understand it not human wisdom. The Bible confounds human wisdom.

If you try to "reason it out" instead of accept the Bible on faith, you miss the meaning.

:buddies: We are not Pharisees and today we have far more factual information and better educated people.

Pretending that the average citizen is not bright enough to understand the Bible in deep detail is just shutting the door to their salvation.

That means salvation now in the present from sin and not the mystical salvation after death.

People need saved now and after death is already taken care of.

:buddies: That is true,

but people hide things from other people and especially the Orthodoxy hides the Bible messages from the sheep, link HERE.

:whistle: The Bible does say to take the scriptures apart with "here a little and there a little" and put the different commands from one part over to the other parts like a puzzle, link HERE.

:buddies: Having faith is great but faith does not put out wisdom from our efforts.

We still need and use our wisdom in seeking out the truths of God and the Bible link HERE.

Calling it "human wisdom" is very misleading like Paul was hard to understand.

That calling wisdom as "human wisdom" is being improperly interpreted as being that 2A and Orthodoxy has spiritual and Heavenly wisdom and anyone that disagrees with their superior wisdom is a liar and worldly, I say not.

We do need faith as that helps, but any common or lower sheep can read the Bible for ourselves and we can understand it ourselves without the dictates of 2A or the Othodoxy of any group.

It is true that we all need help in reading and understanding the scriptures because even King James gave us help by authorizing the Bible version so the common people could read it for ourselves.

So getting help is fine but being given orders of what to think and of what to believe is not fine at all.

:buddies: We all can do both,

we can take the Bible in faith and reason it out too.

Saying that "faith" means we must accept everything that 2A and the Orthodox preach about the Bible is not faith in God.
