Never answer mental health questions, especially in this era where everything you say gets put into a database. None of their damned business and there is nothing they can do about it if you were. Treating depression with drugs is absolute bullshit. Depression happens because something is not right in your life. That's what needs to be fixed.
The "medical industry" treats "mental health" issues like they were a science. They're not. There are no equations or software code that describes exactly how the mind works. There is no schematic that tells you if you apply 12V at point A you should see 5V at point B.
Sure, medicine overall has much improved over the days of leaches, but I always sum it up this way: modern medical science still can not cure even acne or the common cold. Instead of telling people they are sick because they're grossly overweight and put poison in their mouths everyday, they coddle them and send them packing with a handful of prescriptions that bring on their own set of new problems.
Apparently, doctors never receive more than a few hours of training in nutrition in medical school. My sister's mother-in-law had been in the hospital. Apparently, her condition looked so bleak to them that they were actually talking about pulling the plug on her. A nutritionist walked in one day while they were there and said not to worry, she sees this all the time in old people. They don't eat properly so as to get the nutrition they need. A few days later she was like new. BTW, this is why my living will does not allow my sister to make any life or death decisions for me.
